Travel to Vienna, Austria by Air












Travel Tip # 14:  Geneva to Vienna by Air
                   (June 29 to July 2, 2010)

Itinerary: 2 days/ 1 night

          Day 1:                   Geneva/ Vienna                10:45am / 12:15 pm
Via Austrian Airlines (Euro 254)

          Day 2-3        Vienna

          Day 4           Vienna/Geneva                 5:45pm – 7:15 pm
                                                                   Via Austrian Airlines


Travel Arrangements

1.                 Airline booking via the internet. Austrian airlines does not allow on-line check-in

2.                 20 kilos weight limit plus on hand-carry bag

3.                 Airport is very small. Airport to city is about 20minutes by bus or taxi. Plentiful of taxi and bus shuttles from the airport.

4.                 People speak English and are helpful

·        Check-n at 14:00; check-out at 12:00 noon (concierge available for left-luggage)
·        Single room is Euro 135 per night inclusive of breakfast
o       Has twin beds
o       TV, Ref. aircon,
o       Large toilet and bath (no tub)
o       Breakfast is nice
·        Metered Parking is in front of hotel. Hotel overnight parking is Euro 25.
·        Hotel has good facilities (3 restaurants, bar, large lobby, business center)
·        You need to present your passport upon check-in
·        Payment is done upon check out. Credit cards accepted.
·        Hotel is family run – Antonio is owner; Fernand is the son manning the front desk.
·        Hotel is walking distance to the center of attraction --- parliament, rose garden, main shopping district, Stephensdom, opera, natural history museum and hitler’s balcony.

Shopping
  • Main shopping district is 15 minutes walk from the hotel
  • Large Swarovski Store in the area
  •  

Restaurants

  1. Hotel is very near the metro station and the  good eating areas (to include Mcdo and sausage stand)

1.     Vienna Sightseeing bus tours available (Euro 36 adult’; Euro 15 children)

2.     Horse-driven coaches at Euro 8 per person

3.     Spanish riding school --- shows available but you have to book via internet
